The dama gazelle, a critically endangered species, faces extinction with fewer than 200 individuals remaining in fragmented populations across Chad and Niger. The population within Chad's Manga Eguey region has experienced a precipitous decline over several decades, nearing local extinction. In 2023, we carried out a comprehensive aerial survey to locate any remaining individuals within the area, but no dama gazelles were observed.
